Coaching Services Confidentiality & Privacy

Psychologists are bound by professional ethics codes that specify duties and obligations, as well as limitations for confidentiality. My professional ethics and NH state psychology license (NH 1142) guidelines limit me from sharing information about a coaching client with anyone I am not specifically given permission to share with. The exception to this discretion and confidentiality is if an individual is a danger to themselves or other people because of a suicide plan or violent threat towards others. Additionally I will report to local authorities if a client reveals unreported ongoing current child or elder abuse, or if I have reason to believe someone is being mistreated or exploited.
Dr. Brady's records relating to collaborative law coach facilitation are confidential. I will not testify for one party in a collaborative process against another party when she has served as their neutral coach facilitator. I will not share information gathered in a collaborative legal process for which I served as a coach or other neutral without written consent of all relevant parties, or without a specific court order. The exception to this is if during the course of the collaborative process there is information that indicates a member of the dispute is withholding information that is essential in the process. I will encourage the withholding party to reveal the information. I may elect to withdraw from the facilitation agreement or recommend an alternative avenue be explored for resolution. Parties who engage my services will sign a participation agreement that further outlines these details.
Executive coaching is not mental health counseling. As a licensed psychologist communications with me are as legally protected as they are when meeting with a medical professional. As a coach and facilitator my records are not subject to HIPPA regulations. My fees are not reimbursable by your medical insurance, and my notes are not entered into any medical record. This information is for your decision making. I have no intention of sharing your stories with anyone, but you should have information to make the best decision possible when deciding who and how to work on your goals or obstacles. If you have specific questions about confidentiality limits please raise them when you speak with me so that you can be clear as to what these limits may mean in our work together.
